The "Battery Test" is one of the main tests of the BST-760 Battery System Tester.When you enter the battery test program on the tool,it will show you the tool's model and version after about 2 seconds,and on the interface,the bottom line shows the current date and time,you can edite and adjust the time format in the "Additional Functions".
Then you will see the following contents one by one,you can choose the item you want accordingly.
First is the "IN-VEHICLE" or "OUT-OF-VEHICLE".You can use the "UP/DOWM" button to select the battery location,and then press "OK" to go on your operation.
Here,the "IN-VEHICLE" means that the battery is connected with the vehicle engine or the vehicle electrical appliance.When the BST-760 Battery System Tester detected surface charge,there will appear a window of "SURFACE CHARGE DETECTED,TURN LIGHTS ON".And next what you need to do is follow the instructions to turn on the lights to eliminate battery surface charge,the tool will display "HEADLIGHTS ON",now the tool detects the surface charge has been eliminated,turn lights off ,press "OK",it recovers automatic test.
Then the "OUT-OF-VEHICLE" means battery is not connected with any of the vehicle load,which means that the battery connection is cut off.
Then you can select the battery charge status from the two options:"Before Charging" and "After Charging" by pressing the "UP/DOWN" button.The suggestion is that if you have chosen the "IN-VEHICLE",you can choose the "Before Charging" for cold vehicle and choose the "After Charging" for hot vehicle.
Next,you need to choose the right battery type from "Regular Flooded","AGM Flat Plate","AGM Spiral" and "Gel Battery".If you have chosen the "IN-VEHICLE",you also need to choose the battery installation type from "TOP POST","SIDE POST" and "REMOTE",and you don't need to choose this if you chosen "OUT-OF-VEHICLE".What I want to remind you is that the "REMOTE" is applicable to some in-vehicle battery which is too tightly installed to use the test clamps to connect the battery poles.If there appears any tolerance,remove the battery and select "OUT-OF-VEHICLE" to retest.
